If you haven’t eaten at one of the 5 Pampa locations in Alberta yet, get your stretchy pants ready. Pampa has brought Brazillian BBQ here to Red Deer, recently opening in Timberlands. If you’re looking for a special occasion restaurant or are just looking to satisfy a large appetite, Pampa is your place.
Pampa began after founder Oscar Lopez, who I had the pleasure of meeting at a media dinner, fell in love with the Brazilian barbecue culture living in Brazil. Inspired by meals that lasted all afternoon, Oscar decided to bring the experience, Brazilian dishes, grilled meats, and beverages to the prairies.
Speaking of beverages, Pampa features their specialty caipiriinhas, which is an authentic Brazilian cocktail made with cacha, a Brazilian spirit, fresh fruit and sugar and comes in a selection of flavours. If cocktails aren’t quite your taste, there is a large wine menu featuring imported Brazilian wines, as well as domestic and craft beers. Wine lovers, you’ll want to hit up Pampa for Wine Wednesday and enjoy your favourite bottle half priced.
Interested in a little less of the meat sweats? Try out Pampa’s happy hour Monday to Friday from 1:30-4:45.

What I Loved Most
I mean, what’s not to love about endless salad bars and table side meat? The grilled pineapple and the Pao de queijo (Brazillian cheese bread) are not to be missed. You can actually purchase the cheese bread dough to bake your own at home. We also received a hot tip that if you also purchase the dulce de leche and pour it over the cheese buns, it makes a delicious dessert. Invite me over when you make this, ok? I also loved how friendly the staff were. While we didn’t always receive meat on the first round, they always remembered to circle back to us and made our experience a ton of fun.
I was invited to attend a media launch at Pampa and enjoyed a complimentary dinner. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting my little space on the internet.
