Where to Workout in Red Deer
South Red Deer Fit Body Boot Camp is the next stop on the Where to Workout Tour. We took a bit of a summer hiatus from the series but still have a ton more places to review. It’s almost been a full year since starting this project and I can’t believe we’re still not done. This next place was super convenient for me as it is located just steps away from my office and makes for convenient lunchtime workouts.
About Fit Body Boot Camp
Fit Body Boot Camp is a group fitness facility designed to help you get the results you’re looking for quickly and effectively, in a fun group environment. The space is open, bright and clean and the staff are super welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. I could feel that becoming a regular would lead to finding a fitness family.
There are approximately eight sessions offered a day, which makes finding a class time that works for you super convenient. For anyone working downtown, this is a great option because it’s one of the only workout facilities in the downtown core that makes working out at lunch time super quick and easy.
A FBBC membership will get you more than just bootcamp classes. The coaches are fully certified personal trainers, ready to give you the modifications you need to reach your goals, no matter your fitness level. They also offer nutrition coaching and support, fitness testing, accountability, goal setting, body analysis, measurement tracking and additional workshops as well.
Closer to the Lacombe area? There is a Fit Body Boot Camp there as well with the same great owners!
About the Classes
Each class is 40 minutes which includes a full demonstration of the day’s exercises, a warm up, the workout, cool down and stretch at the end. Classes are circuit style, high-intensity workouts designed to bring you optimal results. This style is designed to achieve the after burn effect, where your body continues to burn calories well after your workout is done.
While the classes are done in a group setting, the trainers do a great job of challenging each member at their own personal levels and I felt like we received enough personalized attention that I didn’t just feel like a body in the room. It’s a good way to get personalized training but still enjoy the camaraderie of a group workout without feeling lost in the shuffle.
Fit Body Boot Camp is a membership based facility and over a range of different programs to fit your needs. Memberships range from $97-197/month depending on which program is best suited for you.
What I Loved Most
I love that I can just walk into the fitness studio and not have to think about what I’m going to do that day. I was definitely challenged hard and walked away sore after each workout. I like the element of group fitness that makes me feel like I’m not alone and doesn’t allow me to be lazy with my workout like I would if left to my own devices.
I also really liked that at the end of the workout, everyone comes together for a little cheer/chant which is a little cheesey but I think it is awesome to unite the class and send everyone off with some positive energy.
