Where to Workout in Red Deer Face-Off: 30 Minute Hit vs 9Round

June 5, 2017

Battle of the Boxing Circuit Workouts

On the left in pink, we have 30 Minute Hit on the right in blue, we have 9Round. Which will you choose in the first ever Where to Workout in Red Deer Face-Off?

As you can see, we’ve taken a bit of a workout review hiatus, so I thought it would be a good time to compare some of the places we’ve already been. When 9Round first opened and we checked it out as part of the Where to Workout series, I had a lot of people confusing it with 30 Minute Hit and vise versa. Both are boxing or kickboxing-inspired circuit workouts and both are awesome.

For anyone interested in trying out one of these workouts, here’s a side by side comparison to show you some of the similarities and differences between the two.

30 Minute Hit vis 9Round

The verdict?

I loved my experiences at both places. The workouts are very similar, having the same circuit style format and length. The major differences come from the overall vibe of the facility and whether or not you’re looking for something kid friendly and women only. Both workouts are great for the busy individual who needs a quick and effective workout that can be done at almost any time, without waiting for a specific class time. You will receive individual attention and modification based on your experience to help you reach your fit goals, have an absolute blast and feel like a total badass in the process.

30 Minute Hit vis 9Round

Personally, it’s hard to choose one over the other. I absolutely loved the girl power vibe from 30 Minute Hit and having my son be able to watch me kicking butt in the name of health. But I also loved feeling like a Brooklyn badass at 9Round and getting to ring that bell at the end of my workout.

For our full experiences at each facility check out the reviews below.

So, which one would you choose?

Have you tried either of these workouts before? Which one did you like more or which one do you think you’d prefer?

Great review and comparison! We have a 9round opening up right by Surf so I wondered what it was all about as I knew it was different from the boxing class we did! I think the play room is so awesome! I wish we had a space for that at Illume, it would be a great addition!

Childcare just makes places so much more accessible for people with kiddos. You should try a 9Round workout when it opens!!

These both sound awesome! But childcare would be a big selling feature for me for sure. I think the place by me is 9round…I need to try it out! I hate trying new places on my own though 🙁

I also tried both. The selling features for me are the trainer and environment. Although, the workouts are similar, the trainer at 30 minute was more concerned with quantity over quality. As much as i understand the concept of trying to get the most of 30 min hit, fitness level should be taken into consideration. Thought I could start somewhere. 9Round pushed me but not to the point i could injure myself. Down side is its 2X as much as 30 minute.

I tried both and went with 30 Min. I liked the bright room over the dark room and 30 Min was half the price in my town. The hours aren’t perfect but I’ll make it work.
