Oh hey! Remember when Sunday Runday was a thing around these parts? Turns out I took an accidental running break over the winter and I kind of missed it. Alas, Seawheeze is right around the corner which means I need to get my butt back into running gear.
I’m thinking of using this weekly series to document my training progress but I hope you’ll continue to join in and share your Sunday runs too because I love being inspired by everyone else crushing it out there too.
I didn’t actually plan to go for a run today. I was suffering from a strained muscle in my low back earlier in the week that left me in a lot of pain for a couple days. I hit up a Pound fitness class that was one of my favourite classes yet with so many fun songs. The sun was shining and the endorphins were flowing and the Universe was just beckoning me to hit the trails.
I ran home and threw on my running shoes, grabbed my TomTom Spark and headphones and headed out towards the river. I ran by a pair of deer, people walking their dogs, riding their bikes, walking and running. I ran with the sounds of children playing at the park across the river and the feeling of the sun shining on my bare arms. It was amazing. Even if a previous blister I had from an event on Friday night busted open and I ended up dropping my phone and cracking the screen. Even if it did take me an hour to run/walk 5km.
Did you get out to run today?
If you’re new to Sunday Runday, it’s a weekly running date for anyone and everyone to join. It doesn’t matter the distance, the time if you’re brand new or a seasoned marathoner, heck you don’t even need to run. Walk, jog, run, spin, lift, bend, move. The point is just to have fun and motivate each other to get on our feet. Get out there snap a pic, and send me your mini recap to becky at thebexfactor dot com before 7pm MST every single Sunday to be featured in this post. Or, post to social media and share the link below. If you’re a fellow blogger, grab the banner and join the link-up with your favourite run chat from the week!
