Last week felt super chaotic. I was out of town last weekend and spent Sunday at the walk-in clinic getting treated for an inflamed tendon. It didn’t set me up for a great start to the week and it felt like I struggled to keep up all week. I was happy when the weekend finally rolled around. While there was still some rushing from one place to the next, I eventually got a chance to catch up and set myself up for a better upcoming week.
After work, Cassandra and her three kids stopped by for a visit, followed by another friend and her little boy. The three of us used to hang out all the time back in the day and I think this was the first time having all of us with the kiddos under one roof. We should have taken a photo to commemorate, but with five kids under the age of four, it was a little too chaotic.
Once everyone was gone, Liam and I got to work making our own pizzas for supper. He chose tomato sauce, spinach, pepperoni and mozza for his while I went for fig jam, chicken, spinach and brie. It was heavenly. Bedtime for Liam was a bit crazy and he didn’t fall asleep until after 9pm. I watched the latest episode of Suits and holy crap was that an intense episode! Of course, the best episode of the season is the last episode until winter. Since when is this mid-season break a thing? It’s super annoying!
Liam ended up sleeping in until 8:30. I woke up before he was even awake in a panic since we had less than an hour to get up and out the door for his swimming lessons! That never happens. After swimming, we headed to the market for an early lunch and kombucha refill before going to Best Buy to pick up my new phone.
A few weeks ago I dropped my phone and shattered the screen so decided to just bite the bullet and get the iPhone 7. I ended up switching providers too and the whole process took nearly two hours! I had to ask Liam’s dad to pick him up from the store since I was running out of time to go home and get ready for an out of town wedding! I managed to pull myself together and make it to the wedding with plenty of time.
It was a gorgeous ceremony and reception at my friend’s parents property. She and her now husband and family did most of the decorating themselves and it was all stunning. I wish I’d taken more photos but did manage to get one of me and the bride and me and my handsome date.
Waking up was much too difficult Sunday morning, but I was up and out of the house to run some errands by 9am before picking Liam up. I decided to take him to the Halloween store to pick out his costume, thinking it might not be too picked over this early. Wrong. But Liam got exactly what he set out for, a pirate costume and he didn’t take it off the entire time we were at home for the rest of the day.
After going home for lunch, we took advantage of the sunny afternoon and headed to the park. It was suppose to be rainy and cool so we definitely had no complaints about the sunshine, aside from the fact that I’d wished we would have headed to the lake instead. We spent a couple hours playing and exploring at the park before the rain hit and we headed home.
Liam curled up for some movies while I did some meal prep for the week and some cleaning. Before we knew it, it was time for bed.
This week is shaping up to be another busy one with my first pilates class, co-hosting a Lorna Jane shopping party with Lindsey, getting my hair done and hopefully booking a venue for Liam’s birthday party. My original idea wasn’t available for his birthday weekend so now I’m scrambling to find somewhere else to hold it and quickly running out of time!
What did you get up to this weekend?
Any plans for the upcoming week?
