The last six weeks, Liam’s been doing tumbling classes on Wednesday evenings. It was crazy trying to go from day home, home for dinner and then out the door again to classes. Seriously, rushing a toddler to do anything results in them moving even slower I think.
Fast food to the rescue.
Liam and I headed to Edo Japan to try out their new Healthy Choices menu. They are promoting their new menu options, where you can order brown rice, low carb, or vegetarian versions of your favourite dishes. Not to mention, their signature sauce is handmade daily to ensure the highest quality and freshness.
Liam loved his kids meal, with chicken, veggies and noodles and a juice box. We now call it Ninja Food, because it’s got a ninja character on the box and comes with a little ninja temporary tattoo. I also loved the chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice and extra veggies. I forgot how much I love Japanese dishes save for the sushi. I couldn’t resist adding some gyoza, of which Liam gobbled up more than his share. Our meal was under $20 and filled our bellies with good food to feel good about eating.
We both loved it so much, we went back the following week. This time I wanted to test out the bento box for more of the sides, which I know defeats the purpose of the healthy options slightly but they’re just so good I can’t resist. I regretted doing this though, because Liam immediately snatched my spring roll and shrimp tempura.
Needless to say, eating at Edo saved us the chaos of coming home to eat on tumbling days. I’m happy to have a quick and healthy option to rely on if we are busy out and about.
