Hi friends, coming at you a bit late for the Weekend Recap.
I picked Liam up from the day home and took him to the mall for a smoothie date, one of his favourite things. I’m not sure what was up, but he was so hyper all evening after picking him up, which made for quite a funny evening together. I couldn’t believe he actually fell asleep as quickly as he did.
Since I had finished reading Dark Places the night before, I rented the movie on iTunes to watch. Do not recommend. Apparently there was good reason no one ever heard about it coming out because it was pretty terrible.
We were up and off to swimming lessons for the morning. Liam was adamant on not wearing a swim diaper which was a little bit scary because while he’s 100% peeing on the toilet, we’re still working on pooping and I didn’t want to have ‘that kid’ that poops in the pool. Luckily he made it through fine. After swimming he was off to spend the week with his dad. I made a few stops at the car wash, post office and coffee before going home to do some laundry, cleaning and indulging in a bit of Netflix. I even took a nap. Whaaaat?! It was glorious but when I woke up I had no desire to do anything. That wasn’t an option though as I had a table with some friends at a fundraiser, a beer tasting event.
The event was a blast even if we may have overindulged a little….We tasted some yummy brews and danced the night away before moving the party to our favourite cocktail bar.
Needless to say, I wasn’t feeling my best on Sunday morning and opted out of Sunday Runday. Oops. I spent the day snoozing and watching Netflix before throwing in the towel at 7pm.
Of course, I always hate when I’m not ready and organized for the week on Sunday, but I’m hoping to get to the grocery store after work tonight, do some easy meal prep (since it’s just me this week), fit in a workout and get a good chunk of the week’s blogging done.
Tell me the highlight of your weekend?
What’s your go-to cure for a night of overindulging? I swear by blue gatorade and mac and cheese. Gets me on my feet every time (which is extremely rare).
