T’was the weekend before Christmas and all through my house, were no signs of responsibility.
Liam’s dad had picked him up on Thursday evening which meant I had a weekend all to myself with very little on my to do list.
After work on Friday I came home to clean the house so I could enjoy it being spotless for a couple days. By the time I was done I was starving and it was time for dinner with Cassandra. It is a rare occasion for us to get together without kids and we took full advantage. Earls has always been our place to go and it had been quite some time since either of us was there. After dinner I was home and in bed with my book, excited to not have to wake up at any particular time the next morning.
I actually managed to sleep in until 9am! My brain is usually awake at 6 on the nose so it was quite a treat to sleep that long. I decided instead of being lazy in bed, that I’d start my day with a nice warm bubble bath where I sat for an hour finishing my book (The Uncoupling, very different but I enjoyed it!). By then I was hungry and needed to get ready for my hair appointment.
I spent the next couple hours getting my hair done and seriously couldn’t have been happier with what my hair stylist came up with for me.
I had a couple quick items to pick up before heading home for some lunch and last minute gift wrapping. I ended up meeting a friend for a couple drinks and then headed to the theatre solo to see Sisters. The movie was hilarious and I’m super glad I went. By the time the movie was done, it was bed time again.
I woke up for a chilly Sunday Runday. Since Mary and I met at a Starbucks, I grabbed a latte and headed home for my usual post-run bubble bath. It’s seriously my favourite Sunday morning routine. I had absolutely nothing that needed to be done, with a clean house, no groceries needed, laundry done and our bags packed, so I headed to the couch to start The Good Wife and paint my nails some festive colours. Before long, it was time for me to head out to the Christmas market at a nearby greenhouse where I was meeting Amie for a quick visit. I will have to remember to check that market out much earlier next year as they had some cute stuff that would be great for the Blogger Ornament Exchange.
It was just a matter of doing some last minute blog work for the week (aka writing this post) and waiting for Liam to come home and we were off to my parents house, ready for a week to unplug and relax.
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and I’ll see you all next weekend!!
