It was an early pickup day from the day home, so I decided to take Liam to check out Treehouse. We met some friends there briefly as well. Liam had a blast and it was nearly impossible to get him out of there.
Shortly after getting home and finishing dinner, Mary popped over for a visit and glass of wine. Unfortunately she got to witness the fun time I’ve been having putting Liam to bed lately. I really hope it’s just a phase. The rest of the night was spent watching Scandal.
Liam’s dad picked him up early enough that I could be off on an adventure with a girlfriend. It took an hour of waiting outside in the cold with coffees and a blanket for the walk-in day at a local tattoo shop. We both decided to get some work done. (Sorry mom).
It was spontaneous and over in what seemed like 5 minutes but I couldn’t be happier with the finished product.
I had been thinking about kindness a lot lately, especially after my post last week. This serves a reminder not only to be kind to myself, but for everyone to be a little more kind. To themselves, to others, to everyone. How much better would the world be if everyone else was just a little more kind?
I stayed with my girlfriend until it was her turn to go in and then went home to warm up on the couch under some blankets until she was done. We met back up at Fionn’s for some brunch and drinks. I had every intention of getting groceries and cleaning after lunch, but laziness one over. I ended up falling asleep on the couch for a bit.
My evening plans consisted of hitting up the local haunted house with Cassandra. I screamed my face off, as usual. They do such a great job every year. We headed down to To The Lost for a drink and dessert after.
Instead of our Sunday run, Mary convinced me to try my hand at spin. You can read all about it here. As brutal as I felt during the class, I’m looking forward to going back again. We went for coffee afterwards and then I did a grocery run before picking up Liam. We had plans to meet up with one of my colleagues from Edmonton with his wife and baby while they were passing through.
Liam was a ham the entire time. He was being so sweet and cuddly and was so interested in the baby. Normally he doesn’t like me holding babies, but he loved me holding this sweet little girl and even asked to hold her himself.
We headed home to clean the house, do some meal prep and hang out for the rest of the afternoon. Somehow Liam decided he loved vacuuming and wouldn’t let me touch the vacuum. I had zero complaints about that. Especially when he went to bed without a fight afterwards.
The rest of the evening was spent doing laundry and blog work while I finished Season 3 of Scandal. I actually ended the day ready to tackle a new week.
What did you get up to this weekend?
