What I’m Loving – Birthday Edition

September 30, 2015

Hey! It’s your guys’ favourite post! At least according to my recent reader survey. EVERYONE loves What I’m Loving which makes me really excited to post it. Apparently I was so excited that I posted a day early. This wasn’t scheduled to go out until tomorrow. Oops!

The biggest thing I’m loving lately is my birthday week!! I wasn’t really feeling my birthday leading up to it, but I’m having the best week! All the birthday loves you guys have been giving me really makes a girl feel good. Besides, who doesn’t smile when you see balloons every time you open Twitter!

Liam is with his dad this entire week so instead of pouting into my Pumpkin Pie gelato from Fiasco (My name is Becky and I’m a white girl), I headed out to sample the new cocktail menu at To The Lost. Easily my favourite place to go for a drink in the city. Have you been yet?

Can I keep talking about birthday stuff for a second? Is it acceptable to wear Hunter boots even though it’s sunny and +20 out? I’m just a wee bit excited about my new boots. Thanks mama! <3

I went and treated myself to a little Sephora haul thanks to some birthday gift cards. I stuck to the necessities, Too Faced Lash Injection mascara and much needed Benefit Erase Paste but picked up a new blush thanks to Jen’s recommendation. I was REALLY excited about the Sephora birthday gift, the Nars lip pencils because I’m obsessed with lipsticks lately. I just picked up that tube of NYX in berry for fall and now have two more fun colours to play with. When did I become so girly? I’m not a big makeup person. Mascara and some BB cream are all I need on the daily, but I’ve been playing up my lips a lot lately and it’s an easy way to take your look next level with zero effort. Or skill. I’ve got no makeup skill.

Oh and I’m also loving that it was my champagne birthday and I now have three bottles of champagne waiting to be consumed. I picked up a 2L of orange juice today, who’s coming to drink mimosas with me this weekend? And wasn’t it fitting that I spotted this sign on my walk through Kensington on Monday?

The best part about being born in the fall is how beautiful it is. After cocktails last night we took a stroll around downtown. There’s just something about walking through leaves that makes me happy. crunchcrunchcrunch. Also my foot tattoos still bring me so much joy. I love them. I so badly want another tattoo piece that I love as much as my feet. Belated birthday gift, anyone?

One more photo because I really loved Waterton and think you all need to go there immediately. Well, immediately in the spring when the town comes alive again. It’s a seasonal place and it was the last weekend of the tourist season when we were there. But anyways, go in the spring. Then go climb bears hump, even it means carrying your 35+ pound son on your shoulders half the way up. The views are worth it. More on that adventure later this week. Did I mention I love Waterton? Oh, and I really miss my kiddo.

And because I haven’t posted any links yet: The Reality Behind Instagram Photos. I’m so naive I never would have thought!

That’s it for me. I’m off to run some errands and visit a girlfriend who I haven’t seen in FOREVER.

Tell me something you’re loving lately!

Oohhh I love the shades of those lip pencils. I need to find some new fall shades that won’t make me look like a slutty clown. Hahaha

It wasn’t even my birthday, and I quite enjoyed the birthday balloons when I went to your twitter profile! You definitely can wear your hunter boots. Only because I wore a toque the last two days so I didn’t have to wash my hair. Haha! 😉 I love that photo of you and Liam! So sweet. And that instagram article is awesome. Even when I *know* that photos are styled, it’s still hard to believe it sometimes.

      Those balloons were seriously rad.
I guess I’m that naive that I never would think people would fake a yoga pose for a picture!!

what I’m loving is totally my fave!!!! I’m so happy you had a great birthday and surrounding days! I loved that I slept 11 hours in a real bed again; that was great. And coffee. And I’m deciding which soup to make this weekend because it’s going to be cool and I NEEEEEEEEED soup. And I got a heart umbrella in Calgary and now I want it to rain (just a little)
