I’m going to keep this short and simple. I didn’t actually make it for a run today. To be honest, aside from the LRPS and the Spartan race, I haven’t done much running in the last few weeks. I really have no excuse. Last night I was at an out of town wedding and stayed at my parents place. I had intended to leave early enough to run with Mary in the morning before our afternoon activities, but lack of sleep kept me on the couch far too long.

Halfway done my longest training run of the cycle. 9 miles out….9 miles back. Only 1:45 to go (or so!). #cowgirlruns #marathon #runchat #runyyc #voleé A photo posted by Ange (@cowgirlruns) on
After a crazy week at work I had to run both days this weekend to get my mileage in. 3.5 miles today to finish Week 10 of NYCM training. 6 weeks to go!!
Today, I ran my first 5K since 2007! This summer I started running again after a LONG time away. The last consistent running I did was over 8 years and 2 babies ago. I’ve been running when I’m able to fit it in and have made slow but steady progress over the last few months. Today’s 5K was probably slow by many standards, but I don’t even care. To me it represents the result of hard work, commitment, a new found love for myself and a priority placed on my health and wellness, as well as the desire to set a positive and healthy example for my girls. I know this is just the beginning and I’m excited to see even more progress!
I love all of these posts. Thank you ladies for joining this week. See you all next Sunday!
