Sunday Runday #33

August 9, 2015

Heyo! This post is coming to you much later than normal since I was taking advantage of a kid free morning to catch up on sleep and a sunny afternoon with friends instead of being productive.

I ended up running around 7pm and it was 30 degrees out. I knew I wasn’t fuelled properly and probably a bit dehydrated but knew I wanted to log some km’s anyways and set out to just do what I could. I ran 4k and was dripping in sweat by the time I was done. I had my favourite trail all to myself, aside from the birds, squirrels and a family of deer.

PS I miss my Sunday Runday running buddy and can’t wait to be reunited next week!

August 9 Sunday Runday

From Kaella:
Although my NYC Marathon training plan called for a “rest day” I couldn’t resist going for an easy 3 mile run around downtown Victoria. The best way to explore a city is by foot. Off to Vancouver for Seawheeze!!

From Ashley:
Today was my last long run before SeaWheeze next weekend – my first Half Marathon! Eek! I set a new 10k AND 5k PR today though so I’m feeling pretty fantastic.

I set out at 7am from Glenmore Landing and ran around the reservoir here in Calgary. It was relatively quiet and so peaceful. The first other being I encountered was a beautiful deer snacking on some bushes in the meadow. I love mornings like that. 🙂

From Laura:
I was supposed to run the Night Run in Calgary yesterday, but due to a funeral I’m in Ontario. To make up for it, this morning my sister and I went for a 5km walk, then I added a 2.5km run at the end on the trails in Guelph; it was beautiful and I got to a 5:36 m/km pace which is fast for me.

Thanks for joining ladies!

See you all tomorrow for a weekend recap…

My excuse is it was too hot out to run, but seeing as how you all managed it, I’m clearly full of it 😉 Nice work, ladies!

i’m glad you got to catch up on some sleep. crazy how hot it has been here, it was really mild for my run in ontario, but it still doesn’t mean i was anything less than a fountain of sweat after it was done. my body is so mad at me, that it wasn’t a great run, but i’m happy i pushed on some speed.

Not every run can feel good but those are the ones we learn so much from!
