Just before Christmas, Liam’s Babiator sunglasses lost an arm. We couldn’t find the screw, or any screw, to be able to fix it so he had to go without sunglasses. Of course he was slightly devastated by this which was unexpected considering he rarely actually wore his sunglasses. The nice thing about Babiators is that they will replace lost or broken sunglasses and all you pay is the shipping. I would much rather pay $10 for good quality replacement glasses, then $10 for cheap glasses that will surely break within the week.

With the excitement of new sunglasses on the horizon, Liam somehow decided that his next pair had to be purple and for weeks he talked about getting new purple sunglasses (see: Liam-isms part 3). I realized that we had a bunch of extra promo sunglasses at work in various colours, including purple.
The day I brought home those purple sunglasses was as good as bringing Santa home, and trust me, this kid is OBSESSED with Santa. There were gasps. there was dancing in excitement. He refused to take the sunnies off to have a bath and even wore them to bed.
Liam now has multiple colours of these glasses, including white, red and blue. He’s currently negotiating getting a pink pair. We can’t go anywhere without at least one pair and I’ve made sure to keep extra’s in the car and my purse just in case. Thank Buddha for the plethora of promo overstock that I can horde to keep this little cool dude in his signature sunny style.
The thing I love the most, aside from when he gives me the Horatio Caine look and that he chose (and loves) the colour purple, is how happy something so small can make a kid. It’s the little things…
