Hi friends. Can you believe we are halfway through March already? Spring is in full force, the snow is rapidly melting, the birds are chirping at my window in the morning and the gross smell of the runoff in the water has returned.
It was an early pickup at the day home. I had packed Liam’s swimming stuff and his bike, prepared to have some fun for the afternoon. All he wanted to do was go to the park so we went to the closest one by the day home. By the time we left Liam was soaked from head to toe and covered in sand. To say he had fun was an understatement.
For some reason, come bed time Liam insisted on sleeping in my bed. This is super bizarre since he’s never wanted to in the past. I thought it was just a ruse to stay up a little bit later but he fell right asleep. I ended up moving him to his own bed because by the time I was ready, he was taking up my entire bed and snoring ridiculously loud.
Our morning started with coffee and Big Hero 6, which is ridiculously cute and possibly Liam’s new favourite movie. I made French toast and we lazed around until my parents came. They had a fun afternoon planned together while I was a part of a super fun collaborative photoshoot with some local businesses. I’m excited to see the final photos but for now here’s the look I was rocking
It was so fun being all dolled up, I wish we had more time to play around.
I got home just in time for dinner, where Liam requested Big Hero 6 again while I grilled some smokies. It was another night of wanting to sleep in my bed but this time he insisted I lay with him until he fell asleep. Something really has to be said about watching your tiniest love drift off to sleep. After a night of binging on The Mindy Project, I moved Liam back to his own bed again. It didn’t last long because he woke up crying in the night wanting to come back to mom’s bed. I really don’t understand why he’s taken to this and how a two year old can take up so much space in one bed.
Liam tickled me awake immediately requesting the Lion King so we watched a little bit in bed before getting up for coffee and breakfast. I think everyone woke up a little tired, especially Liam. The only thing I needed to get done was groceries which evidently wasn’t going to happen until Liam had a nap. We had attempted to go to Superstore to find him some splash pants, but had to leave at the onset of a tantrum. It was straight home for a nap.
I wasn’t expecting the nap to last long, so I poured another cup of coffee and settled in for a few more episodes of The Mindy Project. Three and a half hours later, he finally woke up. I felt a little guilty of my lack of productivity during that time. Oh well, the laundry, blog work, cleaning, and meal prep will always be there. We headed out to the grocery store with a detour to the pet store for some animal cuddling before coming home for supper.
Once home, I decided to make some banana bread with some brown bananas in the pantry, and decided to test out a new recipe from a paleo cookbook I got for Christmas. As I draft this, it’s in the oven and smelling heavenly so I hope it tastes just as good.
I’m hoping this week goes by much quicker than the last and that the nice weather continues. I’m already looking forward to a yoga workshop and hair appointment I have lined up for next weekend. Have a great week, friends!
