Oh boy – I can hardly think straight right now because I’m still trying to recover from the weekend. If this post becomes nonsensical, forgive me. My brain will be back tomorrow.
Layne was home from work early enough to pick up Liam from day home. I went straight home to start cleaning the condo so I could enjoy the beautiful weather that was coming our way. Meanwhile, Cassandra was sending me snapchats of the twins and I abandoned any further responsibilities to go visit. I mean, the only other thing I had planned for the night was a bubble bath and some more binge watching of The Mindy Project.
I rolled out of bed and over to the yoga studio for a Sweaty Power Flow. It was juicy and I’m still feeling the many chaturanga’s. I went home to shower and refuel before meeting a friend downtown for some window shopping and a coffee date. It was such a lovely afternoon to wander around downtown checking out the beautiful shops. Of course we spent too much time at Dose gabbing each other’s ears off. Afterwards I headed out to buy a birthday gift and groceries, made dinner and got a little dolled up for a night out with the ladies.
I had every intention of just enjoying a drink or two and sneaking out early, knowing I had a run planned with Mary in the morning. Our evening adventure took off on us and it ended up being a very late night. The entertainment at the original venue was not quite up our early, so we headed off to another place across town. We were told the men with the nice hair and nice shoes hang out here. Seriously, 80% of men in Red Deer just really lack style. Anyways, we were later joined by another friend of mine and some of his handsome cohorts which really kicked the night up a notch. Before long it was 3am and I very badly needed to go to bed. Oh, and there was that whole time change thing.
Three hours later my alarm went off and I tried to pull myself together enough to make it out for my run. I’m so thankful I only drank a couple beers because I was feeling pretty terrible as it was. The run was painful and I feel bad for totally slowing Mary down but as she said, we got our butts out of bed early and got moving so that counts as something.
I’m kind of digging this early Sunday morning run and coming home to take a nice warm bubble bath with a giant mug of coffee to unthaw and wake up. I stayed in the tub until the last possible second before heading out for brunch with a friend. It was such a lovely day, I wasn’t even upset about the lack of sleep. And I mean, the evening out was well worth it too.
After brunch I picked Liam up from his dads and we headed to a birthday party at the gymnastic centre. I’m not sure why they bothered trying to organize activities for a bunch of two year olds, because getting them to follow along was kind of like herding cats. Liam was so not interested in doing what anyone else was and just wanted to run around and do his own thing. He had a lot of fun there.
We came home to play out on the balcony well I bbq’d some dinner. I’m thankful that Liam didn’t take a nap and ended up going to bed at his regular time with no problems. Fingers crossed that tonight isn’t a total disaster either.
