Weekend Recap

January 12, 2015

Good morning friends! Another weekend come and gone and here I am, back to 5:30am workouts. Let’s hope this week gets a little easier than the last two! Before I get into the recap, let me announce the winner of the free float from The Float Shack!

Congrats, Scott! I hope that you enjoy your experience there as much as I did!

I ended up having to pick Liam up from the day home at lunch time as he suddenly was feeling very unwell. Poor guy was running a bit of a fever, so he came home for a nice long nap while I worked from home. His dad was on his way to pick him up for the weekend, but poor guy just wanted to snuggle up and watching cartoons.

IMG_0129Doesn’t his sad little face just break your heart?

His dad picked him up and I was on my way to the first Art Battle of the year. Alix came with me which made it even more fun to have a sidekick while I did my social media thing. It was a super fun evening, with lots of new faces and artists. If you’ve never been to an event like this, you definitely need to check it out. Unfortunately I got a text message partway through the night that Liam was throwing up, so I was feeling pretty guilty that the poor guy wasn’t doing so well. Although, I’m kind of thankful I wasn’t the one being thrown up on.

Art Battle 207 Saturday
I was feeling super tired when I woke up after a late night and took my time getting up and ready for the day. Luckily I was spoiled with a coffee delivery, which I took full advantage of enjoying before heading out for my weekend errands. I tried to find a light bulb to fit in my Ikea bedside lamp since Ikea no longer makes the same lamps OR carries the lightbulbs anymore. I was unsuccessful which means next weekend, after pay day, I will be lamp shopping. I mailed off some packages, picked up some packages, and bought my groceries for the week.

I was super excited to find English Banger Sausages at my local grocery store, so I immediately had to make some paleo Bangers and Mash for supper to indulge my inner Britain. It was my first time making mashed sweet potatoes and I think they turned out amazing. Best. Dinner. Ever.

After dinner I headed off to Cassandra’s for a visit and baby snuggles, and then to Alix’s to deliver her pregnancy craving. She convinced me to stay and play some video games with her for a bit, which turned into much hilarity as I never play video games. It was fun though, I may have to go back for more some day.

I finished the night off in about the worst way, curling up in bed to watch the latest episode of Parenthood. OMG. I think I cried through the entire episode. I don’t know if I’m going to be able handle the rest of the season.

I woke up and hauled my butt out of bed so I could take in a yoga class before picking Liam up. I want to try to take advantage of my kid-free time to make it to the studio more, so I bought a punch pass during their New Years Resolution sale. It was such a beautiful practice, I was so glad I went.

Liam was feeling much better and back to his goofy little self when I picked him up which absolutely made my heart happy. He’s not 100% though, had seemed to develop a bad cough by the end of the day. Seriously, can winter please be over so this kid can just be healthy again? Regardless, I had especially missed him this weekend and was so happy to have him back curled up in ‘his chair’ watching Frozen. We spent the rest of the day hanging out, drinking smoothies, and cooking supper, wishing we could have just one more day together.

I’m wishing you all a great week.

Tell me one highlight to your weekend!

Poor little Liam 🙁 Glad he’s feeling better. That kid just can’t seem to catch a break! It’s so hard to see our kids sick.
