Holiday Run List

I’m happy to report that save for a couple last minutes touches, I’m pretty much done my Christmas shopping this year. It’s nice to not have to battle the crowds at the mall, which is never a fun experience for me. All that’s left is the wrapping and fun moments with Liam. I have plans to take him on a sleigh ride, to see Christmas lights, bake cookies and build a gingerbread house (if he ever stops being sick that is). I know many of you are probably not even close to being done your shopping though.

If you’re stuck with your Christmas shopping and wondering what to get the runner or fitness enthusiast on your list, I can help! I’ve compiled my holiday run list of my top 5 accessories, great for stocking stuffer gift ideas.

1) Music – I cannot run without some good music to pump me up. A good pair of fitness headphones or an iTunes gift card are always a great idea! Bonus: an iTunes gift card can always be used to grab a new running app!

2) Socks and headbands – This is an easy one, you can never have too many socks and a good headband makes all the difference!

3) Compressions socks or sleeves – these really are a game changer for my running. Towards the end of summer, my calves always got tight in the middle of my run. Once I remembered to wear my compression socks, the tightness never returned. These calf sleeves from PRO Compression are a great alternative to compression socks.  Bonus: great for the expecting mama on your list to keep the swelling at bay. Compression socks were my best friend when I was pregnant!

4. Snacks! Working out means snacks, whether it’s Shot Blocks or Honey Stinger chews before a run, or protein shakes or Clif Bars after a run, a stocking full of snacks will never disappoint! Ok, a Lindt chocolate or two never hurts either.

5. Tanks and tees – Your workout just feels that much better when you’re rocking an extra fab top. I’m currently coveting this tank and this tee for post workout comfort.

And just in case that wasn’t enough, here’s just a few more suggestions: water bottles, fitness journals (I would love to get my fingers on this book!), running gloves, running belts, and gift cards to fitness/running stores are all great things to add to your runner’s stocking.

    I love this list! I need another pair of compression sleeves and would love that Lorna Jane book as well!
