Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

October 13, 2014

It felt like an extra, extra long weekend for me since I was off Thursday and Friday looking after the sick little. Thank you for all the well wishes for Liam over the weekend. I wish I could say I’m thankful for health this weekend, but the poor guy is still sick. It’s definitely not slowing him down any, but I am concerned about the possibility of bronchitis or pneumonia again. His dad will be staying home with him tomorrow and taking him to the doctor just in case. I am thankful that it’s not worse than it could be, but it’s definitely stressful for me.

I ended up getting Liam into a really good naturopath clinic in the city to get some answers as to why he’s sick more often and for longer than what seems to be normal. We are starting with some allergy testing in a couple weeks so we’ll see what happens with that. Friday evening was low key for me after a stressful week, I enjoyed some wine and caught up on the latest episode of Parenthood before bed.

We chanced the weather to make it to the last farmer’s market of the year. Luckily it stopped raining just after we got there. I was disappointed that I didn’t see the macaron booth to stockpile all of the pumpkin macarons. A local wildlife rescue place had a live owl there that you could bet and since Liam loves “hoo’s”, I for sure took him to pet it. He was so fascinated.

His dad picked him up from the market and I was off to finish shopping for his birthday party coming up. You guys, my baby is going to be two this week!! The rest of the afternoon was spent doing some party prep and visiting Cassandra before heading out for the night. It was an impromptu night with some high school friends I haven’t seen in forever, watching another of our friends’ band, Blue Moon Marquee, at Fratters. It was a great night catching up with some AMAZING blues music. If they ever perform in your area, I highly recommend going to see them.

I had intentions of a good sleep in, a run, and cleaning my condo before Liam came home in the afternoon, but when Cassandra texted and asked if I wanted to visit the babies, I abandoned it all and made my way to the hospital. Liam came home shortly after lunch and we both headed for a nap before going to check out a new nature playground. It was such a cool little place and Liam had a blast. We will definitely be back again.

It was supper, bath and bed time after we got home and sadly I was in bed shortly after. This mama just can’t handle staying out all night anymore!

Someone was up bright and early this morning, probably because he was excited to go to his grandma and grandpa’s for Thanksgiving and my dad’s birthday celebration. We had such a fun day playing. Liam was a ham, as usual there.

His new favourite drink is tea with a little bit of honey and coconut milk. I’m definitely thankful for my family and this little fella in my life. I cherish all of the little moments we have together.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
Tell me one thing you are thankful for this year.
