I received an American Eagle gift card as part of my relationship with the Quality Blue Community. All opinions expressed are my own.
I used to live in jeans. In high school and college I wore nothing but American Eagle jeans, until they stopped making my favourite style. I then upgraded to bigger designer names, Guess, Buffalo, True Religion. I loved wearing my jeans at any and every opportunity until I got pregnant. I held on until I couldn’t get them anywhere close to being done up before packing them away. I looked forward to the day I could get into them again, but that day sadly never came. After over a year of hoping, I decided to bid adieu to my beloved jeans collection and start over. I never got around to the starting over part though. I wanted to hold off until I dropped another pant size or two. Frankly, finding the perfect pair of jeans is never easy, especially when you’re body is a different size than what you’re used to.
Then I was presented with the opportunity to take advantage of American Eagle’s Online Denim Guide. I was excited to pick out a new pair of jeans to be able to (hopefully) rock again. With 13 fits, 72 washes and 48 sizes, there’s really something for everyone. It’s super easy to find exactly what you’re looking for with detailed information on the fit, sizing, colour options, style guides and more. I had a hard time choosing jeans but once I did I consulted the size guide and felt confident in my choices. I like that you can easily see all angles of the jean, to make sure you like the details and stitching, but wish there could have been a variety of body types photographed in the jeans to see how they would look on every day folks like myself. I certainly am not a size 2 so I don’t think I’d look as fantastic in the high waisted super skinny jeans…
My only other complaint is that was that I couldn’t enter my gift card in the checkout and had to phone customer service for help and it seemed to drag on completing my order. But my jeans were at my door in no time and I was so pumped to try them on to see how accurate the size guide was. They fit perfectly and I was instantly thankful I didn’t have to spend all of the time in a change room. On the off chance that something didn’t work out, I was happy to know that AE provides free returns on top of the free shipping or I could have easily exchanged in-store.
I ended up with two pairs of jeans, skinnies and jeggings, but thinking I might go back for more when the budget allows. The jeggings were specifically to wear with my little black booties and possibly the brown boots I’ve been eyeing up at Target, and the skinnies are more for pairing with some of my neglected high heels or flats. I know you’re all dying for photos, but Liam’s aim is a bit off so you’ll have to watch my IG feed in the next few days.
All in all, would I order jeans online again? It’s a tough call. It’s definitely not the same without being able to try them on and see how they look, but the size guide was so accurate that there was really nothing to worry about after finding the style I liked. With limited time to hit the mall these days, it’s a lot easier to order online and wait for the goods to come to me. Free shipping makes that deal even sweeter. So yes, I think I would order again online and highly recommend checking out the AE denim experience for yourself.
