This week has been a busy one and has gone by super fast! On Tuesday night I was off to see Michael Buble in Calgary with some good friends. Liam spent the night with my parents so I was able to go straight to Alix’s after work for some quick primping before driving to Calgary. Our friend Meagan, a stylist for Stella & Dot, was kind enough to lend us some jewelry so we could be extra flashy. Unfortunately we were total goobers and forgot to take photos before we left and we were late for the show so didn’t take any photos once we got there either. However, I did put together a little collage to give you an idea of what I wore.
I never really wear jewellery aside from the my everyday ring and necklace so it was nice to dress up my outfit with some awesome stuff. Thank you again Meagan for kindly helping revamp my outfit!
Now, the concert. I mentioned we were late due to traffic in the area which meant that we missed most of the opening act, Naturally 7. This was really disappointing because the songs we did catch were AMAZING. They are a group of seven (duh!) who use their voices in unison to make up all of the instruments of a band. There are no actual drums, bass, guitar, just their voices. When we got inside they were covering a Coldplay song. They really were incredible and I’d pay just to see them again.
Then of course the man we waited months and months to see.
I have to say in terms of entertainers, Buble is the whole package. He’s a singer, a story teller, a jokester, and seemingly fun and down to earth BC boy. He engaged the crowd with stories about being a new dad, where his songs originated from, and things he cares greatly about, all the while making the crowd laugh like they were at a live comedy show. And of course, the beautiful crooning that collectively melted every woman’s heart in the building.
Opening with a sexy cover of Fever amongst a fiery backdrop and closing with the fun and upbeat ‘Just Haven’t Met You Yet’, it was a full two hours of romance and love songs. Even if you aren’t a huge Jazz fan, I definitely recommend you see Michael Buble at least once in your life. If he doesn’t knock your socks off and make you feel all fuzzy on the inside, I’m afraid you might have a bit of a cold heart 😉
It’s been awhile since my last concert and I almost forgot the rush of excitement I get when I go to them. It made me really excited to be able to share that feeling with Liam someday when I can take him to his first concert to see his favourite artist.
By the time I got home afterwards, it was 1am. I only had about four hours of sleep before having to get up and hit the road for Edmonton for work but it was well worth it and nothing a little venti Americano couldn’t fix! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to bed early to try and catch up on those zzz’s!
