Day in the Life

May 6, 2014

I always find it interesting to read what other people’s days look like so I thought I would share what a typical day looks like for me!

6:00am – alarm goes off. hit snooze twice.
6:25 – finally get out of bed. Put a load of laundry in the drier. Start getting myself ready
6:45 – a couple last minute changed to a blog post before publishing.
6:50 – pack lunch, get breakfast ready. Oatmeal for myself, fruit and yogurt for Liam
7:00 – wake Liam up
7:10 – sit down for breakfast
7:25 – clean up breakfast, change Liam’s diaper and get him dressed. Attempt at taking an outfit photo of Liam, but fail horribly.
7:35 – Liam is already trying to put his shoes on.
7:40 – We are out the door, a bit earlier than usual. Liam saw the umbrella stroller in the laundry room and wanted a ride.
7:45 – We are on our way to the day home.
7:55 – Arrive at day home, five minutes early. We go for a little walk down the block
8:00 – Drop Liam off, spend a few minutes chatting with day home provider while giving Liam some last minute snuggles before saying goodbye.
8:10 – Leave day home, on the way to work
8:25 – Arrive at work, get much needed coffee!
8:30-4:30 – Work work work. I worked through lunch in order to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow.
4:30 – drive back to day home
4:45 – arrive at day home, Liam is trying to catch one of the backyard chickens
5:00 – Leave for home
5:10 – Get home, check the mail to find I got a package! A yummy product I’m excited to try out and share with you guys.
5:25 – Start making supper. We are having salmon, potatoes and green beans. Liam wants a snack and chooses an apple.
5:55 – Sit down to eat
6:15 – Finish supper. Off to read some stories
6:35 – Liam gets into the tub
6:55 – Lights out for the little man
7:00 – Phone call from the bestie. We spend some time catching up on the last couple days.
7:35 – finish a quick yoga video via Reflexion Yoga
8:00 – start working on a new blog post
9:00 – power off the laptop and hop in the shower
9:15 – grab a cup of tea and crawl into bed to read. Currently reading the toddler version of the Baby Whisperer.
10:00 – lights out, ready to do it all over again tomorrow.

It’s not a very exciting time during the week but that’s our typical routine.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My day is so much like yours! Except Emerson is usually up at 6, which makes showering and getting ready interesting ;).

6: wake up, shower, get ready (if Em is awake then we have breakfast instead)
    6:30: get breakfast ready
6:45: Emerson is usually up, change her, have breakfast
7:15: change (I’ve learned the hard way to change at the last possible moment before leaving), get Em changed, brush her teeth
    7:45: leave house
8:00: drop Em off at dayhome
    8:10-4:30ish: work
4:45: pick up Em, chat with dayhome lady
5:15: home, feed the dogs, start supper
    5:45: supper
6:30: playtime or walk to the park
    7:00: bath Em, stories
    7:30: bedtime
7:30-9ish: laundry, dishes, cleaning house, packing bags for next day
9ish: fall into bed and hope to stay awake through an episode of something on Netflix

Wow you are so efficient!! It takes Audrey forever to eat and get ready in the morning!! And I’m impressed that Liam is in bed by 7pm! Does he nap still?

I’m also envious of your short commute. That makes such a big difference.
