Liebster Award

February 12, 2014

liebster I’ve recently been nominated for the Liebster by Amie and Kaella, thank you ladies! I was actually nominated for this last February too! For those who are unaware what the Liebster award is, it’s an award to help promote new bloggers. The word Liebster is German and has a few different meanings like dearest, lovely, and valued. I always feel a little special when I get this!

I’m going to cheat this time around though and only answer Amie and Kaella‘s questions without nominating others.

Amie’s:

1. What is your favorite Holiday? Halloween

2. Name your top 3 favorite Vegetables? Aw man, this is a tough one because I’m so not a veggie fan. Asparagus, Brussels sprouts, green beans

3. Favorite Musician? http://kaellaontherun.blogspot.ca/ Have yous seen them in concert? Gwen Stefani and yes I’ve seen her solo and with No Doubt!

4. What made you start blogging? I’ve always loved to write, I started a blog in high school after my angsty teen poetry phase ended and I needed another outlet.

5. Cat person? Dog person? No animal person? I don’t have pets but I prefer dogs. I love all cuddly animals though!

6. If you could change one thing about the place/city you live, what would it be? I would make it WARMER!

7. What do you love most about the place/city you live? How community focused we are, and how its right in the middle of everything

8. Share a vivid childhood memory. Walking up my quarter mile long driveway to catch the school bus with a mama moose on one side and a baby moose on the other and my frantic mother trying to call me back before I’m trampled by an angry mama moose. I didn’t turn back and made it just fine to the bus.

9. What is your favorite form of exercise? What is your least favorite? Favorite is Crossfit, least favorite is cardio anything aside from running.

10. Favorite Color? Pink!

11. Do you like your water plain, flavored, or carbonated? Plain. I recently bought limes and lemons to add to my water for the extra vitamins but just can’t get behind the taste.

Kaellas:

1. Why did you start running? To get fit.
2. What’s been your most memorable race and why? The Mud Hero I ran in 2012 when I was 7 months pregnant. I almost cried crossing the finish line since so many people told me I was crazy for attempting and I’d never feel good enough to run a race like that.
3. Would you ever run professionally? Never
4. What’s one piece of running gear you’d love to own if money wasn’t an issue? A Garmin or Polar
5. Tell me about your very first race? My very first race was the Spartan Race in 2011 which fueled my love for obstacle racing!
6. Who inspires you? My friends!
7. Where would you love to run a race? I would actually love to run the Vegas Rock and Roll or the Vancouver Seawheeze if I ever got into marathons.
8. What’s your ultimate goal for running? One day I’d like to run the Spartan Beast (half marathon distance)
9. Do you prefer to run with friends or solo? BOTH! Running solo is great Becky time, but I like running with friends because they push me harder.
10. What brand of running shoes do you wear? Vibram Five Fingers or Asics. I need new running shoes though.
11. If you could use one word to describe how running makes you feel, what would it be? Mixed! Seriously, I hate running and love running at the same time lol

Like you I like running solo but also with friends, just depends on my mood!
I am 100% a cat person, while I like most dogs (emphasis on most lol) I could never own one, they are too needy whereas my cat leaves me alone and really prefers me to leave her too!

haha i was such a cheater, too. i answered but didn’t offer any. since i’ve already answered all of Amie’s, i’ll pick one of Kaella’s, even though i’m not a runner.
my first race was on new year’s eve a few years back with one of my best friends. she is a much faster runner than me, so it was nice to have her and my sister at the finish line waving and cheering me on.
