So, I had planned to blog last night but my whole evening got thrown off as soon as I got home after work. I picked Liam up and arrived home to find my deadbolt wouldn’t turn and my lock appeared tampered with. I was slightly freaking out at the thought of someone attempting to break into my condo. I immediately called my property manager, who called a lock smith for me. After an hour wait in my hallway trying to entertain Liam while on hold with the RCMP, the locksmith arrived and confirmed that someone did try to pry my lock but was unable to gain access to my suite. No one else in my building was affected. It’s very unsettling and I’m so thankful they weren’t able to gain access and that we weren’t home at the time. I hope that this was a random event and it doesn’t happen again.
In other news, has anyone tried Krave Jerky? Since going back to work, I’ve been making sure my door is stocked with emergency snacks and Krave has been a staple. I love this jerky because it’s chemical free, gluten free, MSG free but packed with flavour. My current favourite is the Chili Lime.
I have been thinking a lot about some of the fitness goals I had, such as hitting that 200lb deadlift and completing the Spartan Trifecta. I’m super bummed that these goals are on hold since I am not really training. I’ve done a couple quick ab workouts this week but yesterdays events ate up most of my night and left no time to get any workouts in. I recently discovered that Spartan Race posts workouts every so often on Twitter so I’ve been saving them on my phone to refer back to in the evenings. They have all been body weight workouts so far which make them easy for me to do at home. Maybe if I keep up with these workouts the Spartan Races won’t be impossible to complete next year? If you’re looking to switch up your home workout routine, I recommend checking out the Spartan Race Twitter or you can subscribe to daily WODs from the Spartan website.
