Rise and Win!

September 24, 2013

Last week I talked about my favourite health drink, kombucha. Did any of you go out and try some? If not, I can help. The lovely folks over at RISE Kombucha sent me a couple cases of their new flavours, Mint Chlorophyll and Rose Schizandra and I am sharing one of those cases with you guys!

I have to be honest, I was expecting to not like the two new flavours that RISE sent me. I had previously been enjoying simple flavours such as grape and citrus. Rose? Mint? Chlorophyll? My taste buds kind of wanted to run away. I was pleasantly surprised to find both flavours to be downright AMAZING.

Rose Schizandra does not have an overpowering rose taste. It’s light and sweet and perfectly mixed with the schizandra berry. Can we talk about the Schizandra berry for a second? Has anyone ever even heard of this berry before? I sure haven’t. Apparently it’s native to Northern China and has been used in Chinese medicine for years to detox and purify. This drink was perfect for a refresher on a hot day.

Mint Chlorophyll had me curling my nose before I even took a sip. I’m generally not into ‘green’ tasting things and adding mint to the mix just seemed weird to me. You guys, it almost tastes like green Kool-aid. It’s not ‘green’ at all! It’s my go to if my tummy is feeling off since mint is perfect for calming.

I love that RISE is a Canadian company, they are based out of Montreal! They are passionate about creating a product with organic and fair trade ingredients and supporting their local farmers. You can find their drinks at most health food stores (Nutters and Sobey’s South both carry it locally).

Now here’s the fun part. Two lucky readers (local to Red Deer only, unfortunately) will win SIX BOTTLES of Rise Kombucha! All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what flavour of RISE you would like to try most. You can also like RISE Kombucha and The Bex Factor on Twitter (@RISEKombucha and @beckyainsley) or Facebook (RISE Kombucha or The Bex Factor) and leave a comment telling me you did so for additional entries.

I will draw the lucky winners next Tuesday, October 1. Good luck!

Rise Kombucha graciously sent me a case of kombucha to review as well as provided an additional case to giveaway. I have received no compensation for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I would like to try the Rose. Because I insist on smelling things, so I wouldn’t want to smell the mint. Ha
