Weekend Recap

September 9, 2013

PHEW! What a weekend that was. I think it’s going to take me a few days yet to recover from it!

Of course it can’t be a Friday without going to the Food Trucks. It was rainy so Melea and I sat upstairs. We didn’t stay long as Liam was crabby.

My dad came in the evening to stay. He was volunteering at the Super Spartan Saturday morning and had to be there really early so I invited him to spend the night instead of driving into the city so early. We ordered pizza and Cassandra and Oliver came to play for a bit. After Liam was in bed dad and I watched Salt on Netflix before calling it a night.

Dad was up bright and early so I had breakfast with him before he headed out to volunteer at the race. I made myself an additional breakfast and got ready before Liam woke up. The race was super fun (recap to come) but we didn’t stick around because it was COLD. We booked it to the gym for a hot shower and then to Cities for lunch. My dad stopped by for a beer after his volunteer shift was over and then we found out my uncle was having lunch alone down the street so we met up with him for a bit too.

When I finally got home and had a shower, I had a short amount of time to get gussied up before Liam’s babysitter arrived and I headed out to the 1st Annual Food Truck Garden Party. Cassandra and I went together and met up with Alix and her hubby and a bunch of Twitter friends. It was a really nice evening away despite being tired from the race. We had delicious all you can eat food, and maybe a bit too much sangria.  It was nice to have an evening away

Woke up Sunday feeling like I was hit by a bus. I’m pretty sore from the race and am covered in cuts and bruises. I hung out with Liam this morning and took a nap while he napped in the morning. His dad picked him up to go to a birthday party while I headed out to Lindsey’s baby shower. After the shower Melea and her boyfriend Ben hosted a Turducken dinner (a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey). The food was amazing and it was nice to chat with some of the other athletes from the gym.

I was exhausted from the weekend when I finally got home and put Liam to bed.

(sorry for being a terrible blogger and managing to take ZERO photos all weekend).

How was your weekend? Get up to anything awesome?
