Weekend Recap

August 12, 2013

Good Monday morning friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Just when it felt like fall was coming, the hot temperatures made another appearance for a great weekend!

Friday
A pre-race chiropractic adjustment.
Food Truck Friday with Cassandra.
Eyebrow wax, those caterpillars were getting a bit wild.
Cassandra brought Oliver over for an after dinner play date and little sleepover. Once the boys went to bed we popped some wine and chatted listening to music. I cooked up some chocolate raspberry perogies to snack on as well and oh man, those things were GOOD! It was a lovely evening!

Saturday
I was up before Liam to get myself ready for the Mud Hero. My parents came in to watch him for the day. I will do a full recap on the race later this week. It was a blast and my parents even brought Liam to say hi after the race! Once I was all cleaned up and had a burger for lunch, I spent the rest of the afternoon at the registration tent volunteering. It was really fun! I know that most of these events can’t happen without generous volunteers giving their time to help out. I love doing these runs so I thought I should put in my time as well.

Afterwards my family and I went for dinner at Earl’s. I had hoped to go to bed early after Liam was in bed but for some reason he didn’t want to sleep and then kept waking up every 30-45 minutes. It was getting really frustrating since I was so exhausted.

Sunday
My only goals for the day were to nap, get groceries and lower the crib again since Liam is now standing and trying to climb out. For some reason Liam woke up super early and then proceeded to be whiny and clingy all morning which made getting anything accomplished extremely difficult. We finally made it out of the house to get a start on the errands but Liam fell asleep in the car which led to me turning around and going back home. Luckily Liam had a nice two hour nap (and so did I). By the time we were up Layne was almost done work so I was able to sneak out and do all of my running around sans baby. It’s a miracle how much you can get done with no baby!

All in all it was a great weekend. I had so much fun doing the Mud Hero and am excited for the upcoming Spartan Sprint!

How did you enjoy the nice weather this weekend?
