Happy Independence Day to all of my American readers! Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday!
I’m so thankful yesterday wasn’t as hot as Tuesday. It was the perfect day, in my opinion. Sunny, warm but not too hot, light breeze. There’s no way you could complain about the weather on a day like that. Since we had no plans yesterday, I decided a shopping trip was much needed. I grabbed a smoothie from Jugo Juice and did some browsing at Target. I ended up buying three skirts, a couple tanks, a chambray button up, a pair of long running shorts, wallet and bracelet (I accidentally deleted the picture of my haul from my phone but I did post it on Instagram yesterday). I think I’m going to return one of the skirts and exchange one for a bigger size. I also need to find some shorts that aren’t workout shorts, but aren’t shorty shorts or old lady style. It’s hard to find shorts for a big hipped, big booty’d girl like me!
This morning I decided to make some pancakes for Liam and I instead of our usual oatmeal. I planned on using this recipe but decided to try it with Coconut Manna. Best decision ever .
I topped mine with the coconut chips you see above, fresh banana slices, dark chocolate chips and a drizzle of organic maple syrup from the market, served with a side of fresh blueberries. Liam took his plain with bananas and blueberries.
This was such a nice treat from our usual oatmeal. I think Liam liked it, there was nothing left on his tray, nothing on the floor and only a couple pieces lost in his bib. Might have to make these more often for us!
I would love to get my hands on some of some of this flavored coconut butter. Can you imagine how good Vanilla Cake Batter pancakes would be? Or Macadamia Nut Cookie? Or Midnight Mocha? Oh I’m drooling at the possibilities! I wish they could ship to Canada. 🙁
Today I’m going on a hunt for some at home Crossfit WODs I can do on the days I don’t make it to the gym. I sit here and complain about how I wish I could workout more but I have 3-4 hours during the day while Liam naps and all evening to get a workout in. It’s just tough finding WODs with no equipment. There’s not enough room for double unders, I don’t have a pull-up bar (although they are only $40 at Target and I kind of want to get one), and I don’t think my downstairs neighbors would appreciate lots of jumping. I have also been thinking about trying out YogaGlo after reading Amie’s blog post about it. I could easily fit in some yoga in the morning or before bed.
