Yesterday Target FINALLY opened here. I was so excited when I first heard that Target would be replacing Zellers because I always loved going there in the US. I was always jealous of my US blogging friends who would find the cutest things there and hoped that Target Canada would be just as good.

Since I had zero plans after yoga yesterday afternoon, I hauled Liam to check the new store out. I may have texted Layne something along the lines of ‘OMG, I want to buy ALL THE THINGS!’. Yup, it’s just as good as America. I strolled through most of the aisles and tried really hard not to buy everything. I limited myself to a black of black skinnies that I had been hunting for and a tank to go with my pink skinnies. Oh, and a shirt for Liam too 😉

New outfit for under $30! Score!

It was really hard to stop there and I have a feeling I might have to stop in every time I go to the mall (Target is in one of the malls here). This might be just what I need to build a new wardrobe for my new body. It’s cheap enough that I can get a key keys pieces for the summer and not be too upset if they end up not fitting down the road.

Bonus: there’s a Starbucks. Ok maybe that’s not a bonus because Starbucks also steals all of my money. Danger!

Do you have a Target in your city? What is your favorite thing to buy there?

It is SO dangerous!! lol. I love their clothes, and shoes! I also love their home stuff but have never bought much. I did find a mirror I love for the nursery yesterday and since my one dress is a no go I think I might get the mirror when I return it!

Go secondhand! I made it a point to only buy vintage or consignment starting about six months ago (exceptions: gift cards for birthday, Christmas, etc., lingerie, and socks). It’s been awesome, so much better on my budget, and it’s technically always the most ethical choice because it’s already in circulation so you’re not directly supporting companies that are anti-union (if that’s important to you), or use workshops with substandard safety, labour, and wage practices. There’s Plato’s Closet if you want stuff that’s been sorted for the best of the best, and if you ever get a chance to go to Edmonton or Calgary there are loads of awesome vintage and awesome consignment places.
