What a beautiful weekend this was! I’m SO SO SO happy for the sun and heat.
Friday mom visited before her painting class and had lots of fun playing with Liam. He’s usually napping or fussy/grumpy when she stops in on Fridays so it was nice they got some play time together.
Afterwards, my friend Niki came over with her little girl. We had plans to go for a walk even though the wind was chilly. Liam had to investigate his little girlfriend’s toes while she slept. So cute.
Saturday Layne and I hit the road to Edmonton. He dropped me off at my friend Dori’s house while he went to see about trading in our Escape. It was a very long overdue visit with Dori, as she had yet to meet Liam.
Since Dori has six chinchillas, the first thing to do was introduce Liam to one. It was amazing how gentle he was! Usually he’s very grabby and shoves everything in his mouth, but he held his hand out and gently wiggled his fingers in the little chins fur. ADORABLE!
After a diaper change and a bottle, we took Liam into the chinchilla room to see the rest of them. He was so happy looking for, and watching all the chins. When we left to go play in the living room, he started whining and looking back at the door. He was quite fussy all day but as soon as I took him into the room, he calmed right down. I’m trying to convince Layne that we need a room full of chinchillas now, but he’s not on board with that.
The other awesome thing from the day was watching Liam play piano with Dori. He smashed the keys a bit himself, but preferred to put his hands on top of hers while she played.
Once we got home and got Liam into bed, Layne and I watched Guilt Trip. It was super lame, don’t waste your time.
Sunday was brunch. I think it was the last brunch of the season since I’m thinking about doing a fun run next Sunday and then the weekend after that the farmer’s market starts!! Liam and I went to Cassandra’s for a little bit to hang out in the sun and grass before heading over to a coworkers house for a visit. I managed to get some color even! By the time I got home I was exhausted. It’s been a long time since I’ve hung out in the sun. I’m not going to complain though.
Did you hang out in the sun this weekend?
