Does anyone find it ironic that I recap my weekends when every day is essentially the weekend for me?
Friday I was feeling tired and lazy, moreso than usual. I decided to take advantage of a couple of Liam’s naps to sneak in a cat nap of my own. While too short, it was a nice break instead of getting housework done. After Liam went to bed I also treated myself to fresh, sparkly toenail polish. I don’t usually opt for sparkles, I usually keep it plain old pink polish, but I had the craving to spice it up!
Layne ended up working late, but once he got home and showered we decided to have a date night in, order food and watch a movie on Netflix. We always have the worst time agreeing on stuff and went from ordering Japanese, then Boston Pizza until we decided on pizza (as usual!). I know, so not paleo, right? Ooops. We ended up watching Hall Pass on (Canadian) Netflix. It was pretty stupid funny, perfect mindless flick for a Friday night.
Saturday’s plans got foiled by bad weather. My dad was suppose to hang out with us but there was blowing snow and the roads were bad so he ended up not coming in. Since we had nothing to do, I declared it a lazy day! Liam and I stayed in our pajamas all day long. Every time he napped, I would crawl into bed for a nap or to read. It was glorious. It’s been a long time since I’ve done absolutely nothing all day.
Our laziness was only slightly interrupted when my friend Jasmine stopped by to meet Liam. She moved to Calgary just before he was due and hadn’t yet made it over to visit. Needless to say, they were both enamored.
Sunday was the usual. Brunch, groceries, cooking. Brunch was a good one at Botanica (stay tuned for the review on Sunday), with festive food for St. Patty’s Day. I couldn’t believe that we all managed to dress for the occasion too! Nicely done, crew!
There appears to be a tiny green dinosaur in my lap!
We ended up cooking our usual pre-paleo Sunday night pasta dinner which I enjoyed with a nice cold Guinness. Perfect! My boyfriend is a good cook, I wish he’d make dinner every night!
Liam tried banana for the first time. I’m not sure if he liked it or not. His face said no but he ended up eating most of the bowl! I can’t wait to introduce more foods for him. Watching his face while he tastes things for the first time is so much fun.
Now we are just getting ready to watch Seven Psychopaths, has anyone seen it?
