13.1

I survived the first WOD of the Crossfit Open, although just barely. My chest is still burning and I’m so dang tired.

Workout 13.1

17 minute AMRAP of:
40 Burpees
30 Snatch, 75 / 45 lbs
30 Burpees
30 Snatch, 135 / 75 lbs
20 Burpees
30 Snatch, 165 / 100 lbs
10 burpees
Max rep Snatch, 210 / 120 lbs

I was nervous going into it because my max snatch was only 65#. I told myself I would just do what I could and try my hardest. I had hoped to maybe get at least one snatch at 75, but I just couldn’t make it happen. Those burpees were killer!

My final score was 100 reps. I’ll take it. I am not doing this in hopes of getting a good standing, I’m just trying to survive and say I’ve done it, see what I am capable of when I really push myself.

I’m anxious to find out what next week’s WOD is going to be!!

Have you ever competed in anything before? I was not into sports or anything as a kid so this is my first competition like this.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the pumpkin cranberry muffins I made yesterday were delicious. So delicious in fact, I made another double batch this afternoon.

    Congrats on finishing 13.1! I like both of those movements, but together they’d be tough!

      Thanks. I don’t mind burpees and I really like the snatch now that I can actually do it. But that many snatches after that many burpees is killer.
