Guess what, since it’s the end of the day I’m coming to the end of my Whole 30!! Everyone has been asking what the first thing I’m going to eat is and honestly I’m not feeling anything crazy. All I really want is some dark chocolate, a glass of wine and oatmeal. Boring, right?
Now let’s rewind to yesterday. I started off the week in a really great way, breaking PR’s at the gym!
Last time I tested my 1RM deadlift I hit 145#. This time I was aiming for 150#. Guess what I made it to?
I was so pumped that I broke my PR by ten pounds. I tried for 160, but it wasn’t going to budge. Now that I’ve lifted well over my body weight, I’m aiming to dead lift twice my body weight! I totally think it’s doable if I keep progressing the way I have.
Words can’t even begin to describe the feeling of knowing the things by body is capable of doing. First of all, this body of mine grew a tiny human, a living being, my adorable little son. This body went through a lot to bring my son into this world. Now, not even five months after all of that work, my body is strong enough to lift weights that are heavier than me! Amazing.
As for the rest of the WOD…I couldn’t decide if I wanted to skip or row. I ended up alternating, row, skip, row. I can’t quite remember the exact numbers, but it was just over 1000m each row and 500 for the skips. The skipping killed my calves so I’m glad I only did one round. It felt so good to stretch them out a bit in yoga today!
What is one thing that amazes you about your body?
You may have noticed that I’ve been making some small changes to the blog to make things easier to find. I wondered if anyone was interested in me making a specific crossfit section so you can see all of the workouts and progression? Or maybe I could do a page of PR’s and benchmarks? Let me know.
