Friday Favorites: Aleva Naturals

February 22, 2013

One of my favorite times with Liam is bath time. He used to be a little freaked out by baths when I would only bath him a couple times a week. As soon as I started baths as part of his bed time routine every night, he started to love them. He splashes away the entire time and it’s super funny to watch. Half the time I end up just as wet from all of the splashing!

Aleva Naturals was so generous to send me their travel pack of baby products. It contained Sleep Easy Baby Wash, Daily Soothing Moisturizer, Berry Bubble Bath, Bamboo Baby Wipes and Breath Easy Chest Rub. The Sleep Easy Baby Wash is probably my favorite product in the world! It contains lavender and chamomile oils in it to help babe relax before bed. It smells heavenly.

Because I loved that shampoo so much, I picked up the 2-in-1 hair and body wash as well. Liam has a sensitive scalp it seems, so when I wash his hair he gets really flaky but this shampoo contains tea tree oil to help with the flakes. After he’s all toweled off I lather him in the Daily Soothing Moisturizer. He loves getting a little baby massage while I lotion him up. It smells fantastic and isn’t greasy or oily on his skin.

Aleva products were developed by a naturopath, herbalist and pharmacist to make the best product possible. What I love about this Canadian company is there are no chemicals in their products, it is 100% natural. It’s important to me to keep as much of the things I put into and onto not only my body, but my son’s as well. The wipes may be more expensive but they don’t give Liam a rash like other ‘natural’ wipes. You really have to look at the labels of your products, just because they claim to be good, doesn’t mean they really are.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I also tested out the Berry Bubble Bath…on myself. The minute I smelled it I knew I wanted to use it in my own bath! So yummy. They even have nursing balm and stretch mark cream for mammas! I totally want to find the stretch mark cream, not sure if anywhere in town has it though.

What is an important quality you look for in skin care products for yourself or your children?
