First weekend of February already. I really wish time would slow down! Friday night was a quiet night at home alone. Layne went out with some friends and I curled up on the couch watching my latest Netflix addiction, How I Met Your Mother. Jason Segel anyone?
Saturday Layne worked so Liam and I headed out to my parents for the day since we hadn’t been to visit since Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa had lots of fun playing with the little chunk. It was such a beautiful day that we went out for a walk. I wanted to try to back carry Liam in the Mei Tai so it was the perfect opportunity with my parents to help me out.
Got him up there but he was just a little too floppy…but so stinkin cute! It was so nice out we were both overheating in our winter coats! Great way to spend an afternoon.
We headed back home after dinner, Liam went to bed and Layne and I chilled on the couch shortly before going to bed.
This morning I woke up feeling awful. That cold I was fighting off all last week is getting worse and I woke up all sniffely. But I didn’t feel bad enough for the weekly brunch. We went to Botanica, which isn’t my favorite brunch buffet, but they do have a chocolate fountain. Too bad I’m not allowed chocolate on Whole 30. But there was a great group of people out, which is what makes brunch the best.
After brunch we went grocery shopping. I went to Bulk Barn for the first time. Holy moly! This might be my new favorite store. SO MANY BULK THINGS! I went in looking for some Whole 30 approved snacks and came out $50 with a bunch of different nuts, raisins, figs, dates, Larabars (they have the coconut one!!) and more. Best.Ever. I was excited to see they had a huge selection of Zevia pop, which I really like. I will be stocking up once I’m done Whole 30. The only downside, looking at all the candy that I can’t eat. Sad trombone.
After grocery shopping I spent three hours in the kitchen cooking and prepping food for the week. I cooked steaks, chicken breasts, bison smokies, mini meatloaves, baked sweet potatoes, sweet potato fries, roasted asparagus and attempted to make my own mayo but I’m not quite sure if it’s gonna turn out yet.
Unfortunately I don’t have cable so no Super Bowl viewing for me.
Did you watch the Super Bowl? I really only like the commercials and half time show.
Have you ever been to Bulk Barn?
