So, that was the last weekend of January guys!
I kicked off the weekend Friday with a great workout.
I used the 35# bar for the snatch. I haven’t tested my 1RM yet and actually haven’t worked on that lift in a long time so I needed some practice time.
I thought the WOD was going to be killer since upper body is not my strong point but I didn’t find it too bad. To be honest, I need to use a lighter band for my pullups since the one I was using was too easy. I used the 45# bar for the press and finished in 7 minutes flat.
Later that afternoon Cassandra and I went for a walk since the weather was so nice. I really need to get out for more walks when the weather is nice.
Saturday Cassandra and I decided we would take the boys to Calgary to visit a friend and see his new place. I was a little nervous about travelling with two babies but we survived! We had a nice visit in between the feeding and changing.
It was such a nice day that we decided to walk to a nearby Subway to grab some lunch. The walk ended up taking longer than anticipated but it felt so good to get some fresh air.
When I got back, Big L and I went to State and Main for dinner. I wanted to go before I started Whole 30. I had Chorizo Sausage Lasagna finished with milk and cookies for dessert. Best dessert idea EVER. So yummy.
The best part about the day was that Liam slept so well and went to bed with no screaming. I hoped that maybe his phase was over but wondered if it was just the busy day and extra long naps that helped.
(I’m a horrible blogger and never remember to take photos of anything aside from my kid, apparently.)
Today was spent at brunch with the crew, our Sunday tradition, grocery shopping and meal prepping for some paleo meals. Big L made dinner and we had a friend join us for a visit. Things with Little L went back to screamy phase. I now think that it’s a sleep issue at home. He has a hard time going down for a nap and doesn’t sleep very long. Any tips?
Tomorrow marks the start of Layne’s new work schedule and my Whole 30 challenge. A lot of changes! Layne will be home in the mornings now, starting work at lunch time and getting off around 10pm. This should actually make my Whole 30 challenge a bit easier since I won’t have to cook for him also (he doesn’t eat breakfast). I’m also hoping that he can get up with Liam in the mornings so I can grab some extra sleep. We shall see how all this new change goes, wish us luck!
