One month ago today a very special person entered my life.
Over the past four-ish weeks we have worked through nursing issues and cloth diaper leaks. I’ve been peed on, pooed on and puked on at all hours of the day and night. I’ve gotten snuggles and more recently smiles and hopefully soon those smiles will turn to giggles. Liam is already a much different baby than when he was born and I can’t wait to continue to watch him grow.
Weight: 11 pounds 3 oz. He’s gaining about one pound per week.
Length: I forgot to measure him this week.
Clothes: He doesn’t fit in most newborn things and is getting close to outgrowing some 0-3 month stuff too. I can’t believe how much bigger he is since he was born.
Feedings: I am now pumping only (I will give an update on this next week), so he gets a bottle of breastmilk for every feeding. He eats about 4-6oz every 2-3 hours during the day with only one feeding during the night.
Sleep: Liam doesn’t sleep a whole lot during the day, usually just short 20 minute to half hour naps. At night he has one big stretch lasting anywhere from 5-8 hours. His favorite sleeping position is on someone’s chest. He snuggles right in and it’s very hard to put him down. Snuggles are my favorite.
Personality: Liam is a pretty calm, content baby. When he’s awake he will stare at me, lights, pictures, etc. He really only fusses and cries when he’s hungry or overtired.
Milestones: Smiling! He smiles at certain people or when you touch his nose, chin or cheeks. He also smiles when you rub something soft and fluffy on him. So cute.
Loves: snuggles, napping in the bouncy chair, staring at me
Hates: being burped partway through feeding, loud noises (he startles easily and it’s kind of funny), baths (he makes the funniest unimpressed face)
I can’t believe how quick one month went by but I am surely looking forward to the next month and watching Liam grow even more. It’s going to be even more fun now that I can start getting out and about on my own. We have lots of visiting to catch up on, Christmas shopping and baking and of course Santa photos!
