Friday Favorites: Peanut Butter & Co.

July 6, 2012

I talked about this stuff once before after Allison had sent me a package of delicious goodies. I’ve been a bit obsessed with it ever since.

I’m a huge peanut butter fan. I love my Adam’s natural peanut butter like nobodies business. But Peanut Butter & Co. makes some of the most incredible peanut butters that I can’t help but treat myself to a little more often than I should.

It all started with the White Chocolate Wonderful which I’m pretty sure I ate in about two sittings flat just with the jar and a spoon.

I then went scouring the city to try and find some here but came up empty handed and feeling defeated. It wasn’t until I spotted some of the Dark Chocolate Dreams in my best friends pantry when I started my search again. It wasn’t hard this time, since I knew exactly where to go (Save-On). The downfall was, the grocery store she got it from only carried this kind and the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, and not the glorious White Chocolate Wonderful. Nonetheless, I went through several jars of Dark Chocolate Dreams in an embarrassingly short amount of time. It’s like Nutella, but peanut butter which is 100x more awesome.

Then I happened to be strolling down the peanut butter aisle at my regular grocery store (Safeway) when I spotted a familiar logo. They were finally carrying Peanut Butter & Co.!! Better yet, they had White Chocolate Wonderful. I die. And then I bought a jar of all three flavors.

My favorite way to enjoy them right now is on plain rice cakes. Delicious and somewhat nutritious. Well, at least it’s not the worst thing in the world I could be consuming. So consume I do.

There are 10 different flavors in total, which I wish would become available here so I could try the seven I’ve yet to try. These flavors include Smooth Operator (natural peanut butter), Crunch Time (crunchy, natural peanut butter), The Heat Is On (spicy peanut butter, maybe not so good during pregnancy since I can’t handle the spice), The Bee’s Knees (blended with honey, mmm), Mighty Maple (clearly blended with maple), and Old Fashioned Smooth and Old Fashioned Crunchy.

What’s awesome is that you can even get squeeze packs to take your favorite peanut butters on the go, which would be perfect for travelling. I’m currently resisting the urge to order some online. I don’t know how long I can resist though.

Aside from the tasty flavors, Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butters are gluten free, vegan or vegetarian friendly, and all natural with no artificial preservatives, hydrogenated oil, or processed sugar. You don’t have to worry about any funky stuff in your pb jar.

Another rad thing: The NYC Sandwich Shop which is going to be a must visit place on my next trip to New York.

If you’re in the market to treat yourself to a fun new peanut butter, I definitely recommend you hunt down these jars at your nearest grocery store. And if you ever find some of the flavors I haven’t tried yet, please send them my way 😉

Ooh and just a note, today I received a fantastic box of bars straight from Whole Foods in Utah from one of my bestest friends. My White Chocolate Macadamia Clif Bar stash has been replenished, along with some other delish flavors, new to me Lara Bar flavors and Simply Bars which I’ve never tried. I can’t wait to dig into them and let you guys know how amazing I’m sure they’re going to be! Stay tuned for that in the coming weeks!
