A Lost Month?

April 26, 2012

Last Monday was my first ultrasound. I was excited to see the little thing that had been stealing my energy and changing my body into something I worked so hard to prevent. With that, I was also happy to say goodbye to the 1st trimester and the fatigue and sickness that went with it.

Apparently I could have said my farewells about three weeks sooner. The ultrasound tech said I looked closer to 16 weeks than 13. Uh, what? How is THAT possible?

So my due date is no longer the end of October. I was so excited to have a baby at that time of year being that it’s so close to Halloween. I was even planning on finding a new born Halloween outfit to bring babe home in. I guess there’s now a chance that I will be sharing birthdays with the little creature which everyone else thinks is awesome, but I was never very good at sharing. We’ll see though. I feel like measurements could be wrong, especially because Layne’s family are a bunch of giants and maybe the nugget is just growing like a weed. Next ultrasound will hopefully give us more insight. AND we will find out if the nugget is a girl or boy! Yes, we’re cheating.

Sad news, today I had to take out my belly button ring. Last week it still had lots of room, this week it was starting to get sore. I’ve had it in for probably close to 8 years so I’m sad to say goodbye!

How have my workouts changed? They haven’t really. I still do Crossfit two-three times a week and so far I haven’t really had to modify anything. I’m not lifting weights as heavy but I have still been able to do all of the workouts no problem. I’ve been running or walking on my non-Crossfit days and next week I start prenatal yoga.

Weekly Update:
Weight gained: 1.1 pound – I was getting worried that my drastic diet change was going to be bad for the scale, but apparently my workouts and baby building are burning lots of calories!
Cravings: Ice cream, sandwiches, cheese, tons of fruit
Aversions: Vegetables still
Missing: Sleeping on my back without worrying, beer, my favorite jeans, lifting heavy at the gym

I’ve been slacking on the bump photos but I promise I will get them up soon!
