Chili & Granola

March 5, 2012

I can be domestic after all. As I promised myself, I made a new recipe last night, Sweet Potato & Turkey Chili. I found the recipe from this blog on Pinterest. The only changes I made were using ground turkey instead of ground beef and I omitted the onions because I absolutely can’t cut onions. I can hardly be in the same room where onions are being cut, it’s ridiculous. I also cooked it stove top because I only have a teeny tiny crockpot and this makes a very large batch.

With these white out, blizzard conditions we are having today, chili was the perfect comfort meal on a cold day. And let me tell you, it’s DELICIOUS! I highly recommend. All I have to do now is buy some more freezer containers so I can freeze some for later. I can’t wait to heat a bowl up later.

I have already gone on a recipe pinning spree so once this chili is devoured I will hopefully be sharing another delicious recipe I’ve made with you! I just need to decide which one next…

I bet you’re wondering where the granola comes in? Well it really doesn’t have anything to do with the chili. But while I was shopping for chili ingredients I happened to find the Love Crunch granola from Nature’s Path Organic that Katie is addicted to. I was surprised to see it because we don’t usually get the awesome things that they get in America. It was hard to decide between the four different flavors so I got the chocolate and berry mix. Oh man. I can see why there’s such an obsession for it. This stuff is good and I haven’t even had it with anything yet, just straight out of the bag.  I will definitely be picking up the other flavors next time I’m at the grocery store.

The other thing I like about this company is that for every purchase of their product, they donate back to food banks across North America. I feel good about buying products that give back to the community. If you ever see this stuff I highly recommend picking some up.
