Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone there is no longer the Red Deer Public Market on Saturday mornings. I’m having withdrawals already and it’s only been two weeks. On the upside, my regular weekend crew replaces the market with Sunday Brunch. We must like food or something.
Since last weekend I was succumbed to a whole lot of pain, this past Sunday was our first brunch. I was anxious to hit up the newly opened Cora’s which was always one of my favorite breakfast places to visit with my Edmonton best friend. I’m so pumped that we have one here in Red Deer now.
As was expected there was a wait to get in, so if you plan on visiting on the weekend, be prepared for a lineup. I never mind much because I know the sunny decor and giant menu full of delicious looking pictures will be waiting for me. It’s always so hard to choose what to have because everything looks so beautifully put together and I want to try everything. Breakfast is also harder because I am unable to eat eggs so I’m fairly limited to my choices. This time I went with a spinach and cheddar crepe that ended up being HUGE! I only managed to eat half of it and packed the other half to enjoy for breakfast on Monday.
What I love about Cora’s is that everything comes with fresh fruit with lots of healthy options. It’s a great change from most breakfast places serving greasy eggs and sausages. Healthy options definitely make me feel less guilty about eating out every Sunday morning.
I definitely recommend checking out Cora’s if you plan to have a nice lunch out. Don’t forget to have a small snack before you go so you don’t die of hunger waiting in line, but not too big because your breakfast will be the size of your head!
